Toyota 4 Runner

everyone tells me it is a crap car, but it is my first and so far I love it. the v6’s are known to blow head gassgets and that would not be all that great. so how could i prevent it? or do i have to just wait till it happens to fix it?

I have a 1998 Toyota 4 Runner (104k miles)

A little over a week ago I noticed my car shook a little and it felt weird, so I made an appointment to have it taken care of. Before going to the shop (the same day) the Check Engine light went on.

My 95 4runner is in great shape, need slightly bigger vehicle, Thinking of new 4runner. Worried about gas prices, and like the third row seating. But after driving a 4runner for 13 years not sure I want anything else, but other vehicle have been suggested. Is it hard to convert to a different vehicle, after driving a 4runner.
